Watch the Warranty!
I have been trying to use this source to provide useful information. This latest information comes from something that happened to one of our service customers.I'm sure most of you have recieved a letter telling you that the warranty on one of your vehicles is about to expire,and offering you the opportunity to purchase and extended warranty on that vehicle.
Our customer recieved such a letter and purchased a warranty which cost over $3,000.00. Last week there was a problem with the vehicle,and it was brought in for service. After the concerns were evaluated,and an estimate prepared a call was placed to the claims department of the warranty company.
After more than one hour on hold the call was abandoned to be placed again the next day. The owner of the vehicle also called,and was able to reach a person in there customer service department,who informed them that all of the warranty companies assets were frozen,and no claimes were being accepted.
If you are considering purchasing a warranty take the time to make sure that the warranty you purchase will be there when you have a claim.
